STUDENT ASSESSMENT
Based on scientific observations and medical evidence, we have carefully crafted a a validated process to assess measurable milestones of progress of our students in their cognitive, physical and psychosocial development throughout their stay with us in the preschool. The scientifically validated Development Assessment for the 3L's - LEARN (cognitive), LIVE (physical) and LEAN (Spiritual/psychosocial) is described below.

At BRMCK BRMC Little Lights Preschool - Barker, the NEL and PYP framework are child-centered. In each inquiry learning process, the students are given the opportunity to understand, relate, and exhibit the attributes of the 10 IB Learner Profiles
SPOT AWARDS by IB PYP Coordinator
At BRMC Little Lights Preschool - Barker, we introduce one or two attribute(s) of IB Learner Profile to the children per month. At the beginning of each month, the PYP Coordinator will explain the meaning of the chosen attributes during assembly. Class teachers will reinforce and incorporate these attributes during daily lessons and look out for children in their classes who display these attributes. Towards the middle or end of the month, BRMC Little Lights Preschool - Barker will present SPOT Awards to children nominated for the respective IB Learner Profile attributes. Children nominated will be acknowledged during assembly and receive certificates.

Th BRMC Little Lights Preschool - Barker PYP Language Policy and the PYP Assessment Policy are two important documents that capture our beliefs on how we created a culture of learning. They also explain the methodologies we use to communicate and showcase the evidence of learning.
We are plugged into an effective professional development program and professional learning communities and a worldwide network of highly respected IB World Schools, collaborating to share best practices. In addition, the PYP Playlist has been created for parents and the school community to learn about the PYP and become active in your children’s education.
